Mr. Schwartz a dry goods business man, and has leased a store room formally occupied by Arnold Ridgeway. See Here Mr. Schwartz in May of 1893 becomes the full owner of Philip & Bro giving his brother Herman Schwartz full ownership of their business in Baird Texas and expects to concentrate his capital and energies to this district. Mr. Schwartz’s foresightedness will be well rewarded. He is now in the East purchasing his spring and summer stock of goods. C.D. It appears Mr. Schwartz might be having a problem making his lease to Arnold Ridgeway. By order of the Court, J.F> Carpenter, assignee of Philip Schwartz is now selling out the immense stock of dry goods, clothing, hats, trunks, valises; in fact everything at prices regardless of cost and profits. This is the last information found on Philip Schwartz.. The theft occurred on about Aug 1894 and the last record above is dated Sept, 1897. However, because the 1900 census shows Philip in Dallas Texas, I can only conclude that if they spent time in jail it was from about Oct 1897 through Oct 1899.
