He was the oldest child of Albert Lewis Crenshaw and Mattie Shelton Crenshaw both born in Tennessee. He grew up on the family ranch near Cresson, Johnson County, Texas. Bob was a wrangler on the cattle trails and a jockey in Booger Red’s Rodeo Show. He married Bertha Eulalia Starkey in Chickasaw Nation, Indian Territory in 1902. They moved to New Mexico Territory in early 1903 in a covered wagon with his brother Will Crenshaw and his wife Retta Moss Crenshaw and their son Asa B. They settled near Melrose NM and moved to Lincoln County in 1917. Bob was a rancher until his death in 1947.
