FUNERAL SERVICES FRIDAY FOR MRS. MARY JACKSON
Mrs. Mary Jackson, pioneer resident of White Oaks , passed away Tuesday evening at her home. Mrs. Jackson had been in ill health for a year. She was 85 years of age.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Galveston County, Texas July 7, 1869/ Following her marriage to D. L. Jackson on November 4, 1896 she had lived continuously in White Oaks.
With her husband she lived through many pioneer experiences in White Oaks during the days of the mining boom. Epidemics were frequent and Mrs. Jackson and her husband were always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors in hours of sickness and need.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Carrizozo. Interment is to follow in the cemetery at White Oaks.
