He was a Civil War Veteran. He was in Company E, 19th Michigan Infantry. There is an error on his headstone. Lyman’s middle name is Sprague, so his headstone should read S. instead of F. Lyman married Mary Elizabeth Wren in 1859 in the State of Michigan.
Lyman drowned after a bank gave way that he was walking on and fell into the Arkansas River, near Florence, Colorado. He was buried in Union Highland Cemetery on 27 Jun 1907.
