In or near White Oaks, NM, he owned 1/3 interest in several mines: “Hell’s Half Acre,” “Little Daisy” and “Oxford.” (The latter was named after Oxford, Alabama.
John Dewberry Garrett killed by a falling stone that was thrown into the air by a mine blast.
