Jennie was the second of twelve children born to Micajah Stanley and his wife, Rebecca Moore. Jennie wed Richard Taliaferro; a son of Jones T. Taliaferro and his wife, Elizabeth Cooper Townsley. Jennie and Richard were married on June 22, 1850 in Watseka (Iroquois County), Illinois. They were blessed with five known children; three sons and two daughters. Jennie was in her 81st year of life when she passed away.
